oh I am honored Virginia! Thank you. That white one is very pretty - I think I am going to have keep my eye out around here. Mine is in bloom at the moment too - the flowers last for so long - it really is a lovely plant.
I'm glad you liked it Gill. I hope that you will find a plant at your garden centre soon, if not we can work on a plan to get you some seeds....wink, wink.
We had a long period of rain a while back and my desert rose got soggy and rotted. I'd forgotten to move it out of the rain. (Bad gardener) I will have to be content to look at yours. It's beautiful.
So sorry about your desert rose. You are not a bad gardener, you had a lot on your plate to deal with. I would love to send you another plant. Have you thrown away all the pieces? If not you may be able to salvage a stalk. Cut off the soggy part at the bottom and leave the remainder to dry. When It has formed a hard callous, stick it in some damp sand, and keep your fingers and toes crossed that it will take....I'm rooting for you.

Sweet!
ReplyDeleteIt loves the discarded teabags and coffee grounds. Just a small sprinkling when I remember, and it explodes into blooms....so many I can't count.
DeleteBeautiful. Even if we got desert roses in this country it wouldn't survive in the wet and windy Hebrides.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pity GB, for the flowers last an incredibly long time, and are sure to brighten up your day.
Deletecan you send some seeds for me
