An Attitude of Gratitude

This wonderful flyer popped into my email inbox today, and it made me happy.
I wish we didn't need to be reminded to be grateful/thankful, but it is what it is.
I'm so glad that I was taught to be contented and grateful for what I had.
The voyage of a thousand miles begins with the very first step.

  1. Life is a choice. We can either choose to see all the beauty in the world and understand how hard work and a hard life are so very different. Or we can whine and moan about how imperfect everything is. Life is a choice: I choose happy. :o)

    1. I choose to be happy too Tammy. Life is too short to be miserable all the time.

  2. That is a nice initiative. I hope it snowballs.... there are so many things in my life that I am grateful for, but it is a wonderful idea to keep track.

    1. I do hope that the attitude of gratitude catches on....folks are feeling so low these days with job losses and reduced income that they really don't want to find other happiness in their lives. They equate happiness to income earned....very sad.

  3. As you know Virginia I always look for things for which to be thankful and, I am fortunate enough to be able to say, there are many of them. My expectations in life are, by the standards of my peers, very modest. I have no need of ambition. I have no need of a large income. For me the task is easy. The problem is that everything is relative and, to the majority of the people in the world as a whole, I am immensely wealthy both financially and in almost every other way. I can, however, understand the person begging in the street may find an attitude of gratitude rather difficult (even if, in this country, it may be of their own making for whatever reason). I hope that my comment doesn't sound negative - it's not meant to be. [I have used the first person singular rather a lot in this post but it's one of those cases where I can only speak for myself.]

  4. Yes, I know that you already have an attitude of gratitude GB. Your Thankful Thursday posts give you credit in this regard.
Your comments were not taken negatively, since they are all true.
There are folks here on the island who have resorted to begging after living a life of luxury, and in some instances struck it rich in the lottery on more than one occasion.
When I am approached for money I can't help but wonder why they allowed themselves to fall so far down in life after breathing the air of the higher echelons and not even glancing in my direction when they were flying high.
