Uncle Colin
December 26, 1947 - November 1, 2016
Yesterday afternoon I joined other family members in a farewell service to celebrate the life of "Uncle Colin."
He was one of Steve's older brothers, my brother-in-law, and Natalie's Uncle Colin.
He loved to tease me whenever we met.
He had a big smile that would transform to a grin when he was up to something....like teasing me or joking around.
Every time we ran into each other he would poke me and say, "You married the wrong brother."
This always made me laugh for he knew that I loved his brother dearly.
"Moody" as he was affectionately called was a term of endearment but truly reflected his demeanor at times.
He loved animals, big and small, but after his health began to fail, he had no other option but to close his beloved Pet Shop which he had owned and operated for many years.
He soldiered on in his own way until he could no longer do so.
The sad news came last Tuesday as my daughter called to say, "Mummy, Uncle Colin is gone." I heard the tears in her voice and tried my best to reassure her that once again it would be okay.
Uncle Colin, we will miss you.
May you Rest in Peace.
Sad times.
