Miss P. emerged Best in Show after Judge David Merriam made his decision from each of the seven groups: sporting, working, terrier, non-sporting,
herding, hound and toy.She emerged as first among the hounds, then competed against Charlie the Skye terrier as well as a Portuguese water dog, an English springer spaniel, a standard poodle, an Old English sheep dog and a shih tzu for the Best In Show title.
Eddie Dziuck, who is Miss P's part-owner said this will be her last show, as he hopes to breed the 4-year-old beagle.
Miss P is a grandniece of Uno, who was the first beagle to win Best In Show in 2008.
After writing this, I read about this murder-mystery at this years British Crufts Dog Show. ...this is so sad.
I read about the dog who was killed, too. How sick and pathetic. I think every dog is a winner. Why do we even have beauty pageants for dogs? Every dog is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very sad world that we live in when someone can do something like this to a defenseless animal.
DeleteSo many bad-minded, jealous and covetous people out there.
Even though I agree with you that every dog is fabulous in their own way, I still enjoy viewing all the dogs on show at the dog shows.
I'm afraid that beauty pageants of any sort (except, I suppose, for old motor cars) have never really interested me. I usually like dogs that people keep as pets and enjoy knowing what's happening to friends' pooches though.
ReplyDeleteOld motor car exhibits may be safer than some of the other pageants.
DeleteAs for you not being a true dog person, you do pretty well with all the dogs that come in and out of your life....can I send Brownie over?
