So Long to a dear friend

Gone but will never be forgotten - April 2, 2015
Last Thursday afternoon, a sad afternoon for our close circle of friends.
We gathered to say "So Long" to one of our own.
We came together at a beautiful church, St.James Anglican Parish Church (*), on the west coast of the island.
A beautiful Service of Thanksgiving for the life of a beautiful person that we treasured so much.
A gentle human spirit who was always there with two helping hands, genuine to the core, a caring sharing soul.
Loving husband and friend to all, he was foe to none.
With his deep reassuring voice that transcended all fears, this gentle giant will be truly missed.
No longer will I hear "It's your partner in crime!" when I call for his wife and he answered....always made me laugh.
May the wings of the angels take you home to rest in peace my friend.

(*) Will write a separate post on this beautiful church shortly.

  1. I recall you mentioning that recently Virginia and feeling sad for you and for his wife. I'm glad that you were able to give thanks for his life.

    1. I remember when my Mum started losing her circle of friends, in my young mind it wasn't anything to really be concerned about, but now......
He really was a good man, and his family will miss him, but they're doing well for now.

  2. Sorry for the loss of your friend. Good that some friends were able to come together for a memorial service though.

    1. Thank you Monica, our circle is getting smaller and it seems that all the guys are leaving us women behind.
      We will miss him.

  3. So sorry, Virginia. It's so hard to lose a friend. Take care and God bless, xoxox

    1. Thanks so much for your kind sentiments Chickadee, it really is hard to lose a close friend.
